*obviously i mean this in a really petty, vain, heathen way.
i’ve had decent skin since birth and pretty much had the face of an angel through puberty (though it was hidden by a good deal of hair and some wire-rimmed atrocities) and into my first few years of college. i may have been fat, but i had good skin. BUT THEN i turned twenty-one and my face fell off. i got adult acne. it was pizza central all over my face. i panicked, i freaked, and i spent one hell of a lot of money trying to fix it.
and i do mean i tried everything. neutrogena, estee lauder, dr wexler’s acnostat products, aveeno, not washing my face with tap water, prescription treatments, hydrocortisone, steroids, plastering my face with make-up, the whole nine yards. i turned my bathroom into the personal care aisle at target.
BUT THEN, i found it. hidden on the back wall of nordstrom’s was this line of products by mario badescu. virtually everything he sells is under $20, so i grabbed a bottle of his glycolic acid cleanser for $16 and ran for my sink.
what happened between my face and that bottle of cleanser changed everything. BOOM ZAP POW breakout gone, world rocked.
i don’t understand is why mario badescu doesn’t get more publicity. his products have sincerely changed my skin. they’re affordable, hypoallergenic, gentle, and AWESOME.
my top picks?
enzyme cleanser- with papaya and grapefruit extracts and an alpha hydroxy acid for exfoliating purposes, this stuff dominates blackheads and a day’s worth of make-up.
glycolic foaming cleanser- i use this little guy every other day and i swear every time i use it, it’s like getting a new face. straight up angel glow status. it has really faded my scars, too.
glycolic acid toner- because i became obsessed with glycolic acid, i decided to give this toner a go for daily use. AND I LOVE IT.
