if you consistently allow yourself to be placed in a position where you are viewed as anything other than who you see yourself to be, the consequences are your fault alone.
i’m sorry, but you shouldn’t be all “oh my god i don’t understand why people see me this way! i’m so not not like that!” because hey, numbnuts, you allowed people to think of you in this light. by saying stupid shit to look cool you got yourself in this dumb mess.
i feel like the kids under twenty i’ve encountered recently have absolutely no sense of self-respect. it shouldn’t be a new concept to anyone that what you say, even on the internet, can and will be taken seriously by someone who comes across it out of context. there are consequences for every action and i simply just don’t understand how it’s so easy to forget that.
and as you get older, there will only be more consequences and even fewer people to help you out. this is only the tip of the giant iceberg that is adulthood, honey.
fucking put on your big girl panties and take responsibility for yourself. lord knows, there’s not a person on earth who’s going to do it for you. the sooner you learn that the better.
